About Me
My name is Simon Hrbac. I’m 23, from the Czech Republic, and I write about what it actually takes to close the gap between the person you are and the person you know you could be.
Not because I’ve closed it. Because I’m closing it — in public, without shortcuts, and without pretending it’s easier than it is.
I grew up as the one who watched. I never quite fit in, so I learned to read the rooms I couldn’t belong to — and what I saw, everywhere, was wasted potential. Capable people going through the motions. Doing what was expected of them, negotiating with themselves, choosing comfort over the life they could have had — and calling it fine. I also saw, up close, where a lifetime of lost negotiations ends. That one wasn’t theory either.
At some point suffering stopped being something that just happened to me and became something I could use. It gave me an urgency most people around me didn’t seem to have — a fire I couldn’t turn off and, for a long time, couldn’t explain. I decided I would rather burn on something that matters than stay comfortable and call it a life. Everything I write comes from that decision — what it has cost, and what it keeps teaching me.
I make videos about all of this, and I run a community called The Siege — for people who are done collecting motivational surges and want the long campaign instead.
I won’t promise you certainty I don’t have. I’ll tell you what I think, what I’ve lived, and where the evidence actually stops.
That’s it. That’s the contract.
